Quinoa-Based Pizza

This alternative pizza crust may be the simplest pizza crust recipe I’ve crafted thus far. In a hurry or want to prep a few crusts ahead of time? Test out this recipe for yourself.

Crust Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa (uncooked) soaked in hot water for 30-45 min then drained

  • ½ cup vegetable broth

  • 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, sea salt to taste

Toppings

  • Marinara sauce

  • Dairy free cheese (I prefer Trader Joes' cashew milk mozzarella)

  • Organic cremini mushrooms, sliced

  • Peppered turkey bacon, chopped

  • Shallots, sliced

  • Fresh basil, sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Add quinoa, spices, and broth to a food processor and blend until a thick paste forms (and you can no longer see the quinoa).

  3. Spread on a parchment-lined baking tray (9×13) and bake for 15 minutes.

  4. Remove, add toppings and bake for another 15 minutes.

*Note: if you’d like a thicker crust, bump up the quinoa to 1 ¼ c and vegetable broth to ¾ c.
