Layered Chocolate Slice

Decadent and satisfying, this chocolate slice will be your next favorite make-ahead treat for the week.

Layer 1

3/4 c nut butter (I used crunchy almond butter)

1/4 c maple syrup

1/2 c almond flour

1/4 c cacao powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

Layer 2

1/2 c date paste* 1/3 c nut butter

Layer 3

1/2 c chocolate chips

1/2 Tbsp coconut oil


  1. Combine all ingredients of first layer.

  2. Spread out on a parchment-lined dish (size similar to 9x5).

  3. Chill in fridge while you combine ingredients of layer 2.

  4. Spread layer 2 over first layer.

  5. Add chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe dish and melt.

  6. Pour over the dessert and sprinkle with sea salt, if desired.

  7. Chill in fridge for a couple hours to set and then enjoy!

  8. Store in the fridge.

*To make the date paste, add 5-6 pitted medjool dates to a small saucepan. Add 1-2 Tbsp of water and simmer until the dates are very tender/mushy. Mash with a fork until they begin to form a creamy paste.
